Buffalo Grove Plant Pickup


The Plant Club is like having an on-demand local plant shop with your friends and neighbors!

In Buffalo Grove:
South of Half Day Rd., west of Prairie Rd. near Meridian Middle School.

This pickup site has been serving plant friends in Chicago's north suburbs of Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Prairie View, and Wheeling since 2023. We deliver plants and mulch to zip codes 60047, 60060, 60069, 60089, 60090 and beyond.

The Plant Club is here to help you get whatever plants you need for your yard: spring and fall annuals, patio pots and hanging baskets, native and ornamental perennials, from groundcovers to grasses and shrubs, either individually or in quantities suitable for the biggest yard improvement project. Our pickup sites are hosted by garden friends who love plants — we’ll contact you with specific details when you order your plants.

About Me

Hi! My name is Amy Kingan and I would like to welcome you to the Buffalo Grove Plant Club. For the past 13 years, I have been a resident of BG and enjoy being involved in our community. I have 4 kids in District 102 and Stevenson High School.

Over the last decade, I have stayed busy fostering kittens for Fur Keeps Animal Rescue, organizing and officiating at local swim meets, being involved with our district's PTO, and of course gardening!

I love spending the weekends planting flowers in my garden. It's fun to see what plants work in each location of my yard. I love to experiment. The past few years, I have been enjoying plants inside my house! My current favorites are orchids!

I look forward to meeting you when you pick up plants at my house!

Limited Availability

We try very hard to source exactly what you’d like, but sometimes growers run out of plants! While this variety is a great deal at the price shown, we know that it has limited availability. If you want the plant even if it might be more expensive, or in a different size or quantity -- after you place your order, just send us a quick note at help@northshoreplantclub.com. Then, we’ll try to get you some version of this from one of our growers. And if we can’t get it from anywhere, of course, we’ll send a refund!


Field-Grown vs. Greenhouse-Grown Plants

Plants which are well-adapted to our local climate are most often field-grown (outside). Field-grown plants are generally cheaper and have the advantage of already somewhat acclimated to our cold winters, but that means they’re not artificially far along in the spring and tend to bloom at the normal time in our area.

Spring annuals and tender perennials are typically grown in Greenhouses so they can be ready and luxurious exactly when customers want them. Some perennials are also “forced” into early bloom in greenhouses. In May, there can be a very big difference between field-grown and greenhouse-grown plants of the same type. The latter typically look good right away (so they’re a great choice where that’s important), but we typically pay a premium for it.
