'Lemon Drop' is a selection of threadleaf bluestar named for its fall foliage rather than its flowers - a cooler, lighter lemon-yellow than the warmer orange-gold of sibling cultivars like 'Butterscotch'. Steel-blue, star-shaped flowers appear over fine threadleaf foliage in May-June. This is a thinly documented cultivar; even the Chicago Botanic Garden's own listing doesn't specify the species epithet explicitly, though most sources treat it as an Amsonia hubrichtii selection.
