Salvia nemerosa, commonly known as woodland sage, is a clump-forming deciduous perennial in the mint family native to Europe and Asia. They typically grows 1.5-3' tall and 2' wide. Lavender to violet blue flowers (0.5” long) are supported by tiny reddish-purple bracts that bloom from June to September in dense, upright, spike-like racemes rising well above the foliage. Their flowers and aromatic leaves are attractive to bees and butterflies.
