Double Play Big Bang spirea (Spiraea japonica 'Tracy') is prized for having some of the largest flower clusters of any spirea on the market: large, rounded, pink blooms appear in summer and rebloom readily after deadheading. New spring foliage emerges bright orange, matures to deep yellow through summer, and finishes the season in rich golden-orange fall color. This patented selection (US Plant Patent 21,588) forms a tidy, compact mound 2-3 feet tall and wide, grows at a moderate rate, and is notably rabbit resistant. It tolerates a wide range of soil moisture from well-drained to consistently moist and needs little more than an occasional trim to keep its shape.
